Hanford " Hank" Rook

Mr. Hanford "Hank" Rook, 99 of Hollow Rock, TN, departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his son Stephen Rook home in Kansas City, MO. Mr. Rook was born on April 12, 1921 in Dyer County, TN to the late Will and Nora Lee Huffstutter Rook. On March 2, 1947 he married Evelyn Louise Cook Rook. Their marriage was blessed by three sons and a daughter . Mr. Rook was preceded in death by his wife: Evelyn Louise Rook, a granddaughter Angelia , 3 sisters : Inez Asbridge, Jean Asbridge and an infant sister, also 3 brothers: Avery Rook, Dallas Rook and Milburn Rook. Mr Rook was a member of Bruceton Church of Christ and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He joined the Navy SeaBees in 1941 and served in the South Pacific in WWII and after the war he was stationed in Okinawa. being honorable discharged January 1946 . He worked for Forcum-Lannon Construction Co. in Dyersburg, later he came to Bruceton in 1966 to build H.I.S. warehouse. He then worked for Goodwin Construction Co. and Barger Contruction Co.of Huntingdon, TN . Mr. Rook served as a Bible school teacher and was one of the elders at Bruceton Church of Christ for many years. He is survived by 1 daughter: Cathy Woodruff Graebe of Gallatin , 3 sons : Thomas Rook and Stephen Rook of Kansas City, MO. and Mark Rook of Hollow Rock, TN. 1 sister : Sue white of Orlando, Florida 8 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Bruceton Funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 16th from 10:00 am till 1 pm. Graveside services will be held on at 2:00 pm at Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock,TN. With everyone meeting at the cemetery about 1:50 on Saturday.
